img src="http://roughsketch.es/stranger-things/out/595d3cc5bc63b.gif" style="float:left;margin-right:10px;" This June the image file format GIF (graphics interchange format) celebrated 25 years of use. The original intent was to have a compressed image format that quickly travelled over modems. The fact you can create short animations and render them in the form of an "animated GIF" creates new possibilities of self-contained animations.
I came across the PHP library GifCreator by Clément Guillemain that makes it very simple to create animated GIFs using a script. At the time I was enjoying the Netflix series 'Stranger Things' and thought it would be a creepy exercise to build an interface for creating custom messages on "the alphabet wall."
